For weeks, the new slides, swings, picnic tables and barbecue grills have been shining like beacons, drawing a parade of curious residents, especially little ones. "We finally had to put padlocks on the gate," said Marie Macedo, a founding member of Earlimart Rotary Club, which took on the park makeover as a community service project. Having the park open again will save money on gas, said Faustina Magana of Earlimart, a grandmother who helps care for a 3-year old boy and 6-year-old girl. "Usually, I go to Delano or sometimes Tulare," she said.
